Creation of the Project

 

Work with the software package starts with creating files for bipolar scales (descriptors), which are used for adequate description of the proposed research subject. For illustration we are going to use examples from the completed projects named "Study of Perception Attitudes and Estimation of Women's Photographs by Men" that continues a series of gender projects. The project has been selected for an example, because it is readily understandable by specialists in a wide range of spheres: sociology, psychology, marketing, advertisement etc, as well as for all kinds of potential users.

The scale library can be further extended depending on the new research areas and goals.

 

After creating a scale database, a researcher should create a project type database, which would split the scales into subjects according to the types of projects planned. This will enable a researcher to select descriptors for a specific project in a fast and efficient way.

 

Having created the types of projects (one, as a minimum), one can start project development on the topic selected, with the indication of the project type. All scales are offered for researcher use by default, whereof he can choose only the desired ones. Then research subjects are specified, them possibly being objects of all sorts: verbal (names of goods, names of politicians; visual (photographs, commercial videos, graphic pictures etc.)); auditory (music, speech, sounds of nature). Research subjects can be both newly created and drawn from the object database. The latter is automatically extended with each new object.

 

EXAMPLE:  The objects of our research were photographs of 9 women

 

Then a researcher can specify conditions, within which the experts would range research subjects by determining their rating.

 

EXAMPLE

 

A researcher can additionally specify interfaces for data input for each of the project scales: analog (scale-type) and digital (input of numbered values). This is related to the fact the subjects can be evaluated both subjectively (product quality, attitude to something), and using objective methods (apparatus readings, economic or technological indices etc.).

 

The final stage of the project design is a project model, which is saved in the project database.

 

Libraries and project development are performed with the help of the program module, which is referred to as "Basic Module".

 

Next step of project development is data collection within a definite project. For speed-up, the project is provided with "parallel" data input. This is performed by the "Tester Module" software that is prepared in the "Basic Module" alongside the testing pattern (CD-ROM recorded), and it is installed in personal computers (PC). A PC can be either separate or part of a network.
