SEMANTIC ANALYSIS: RESEARCH TECHNIQUE

Estimation of New Research Subjects

If there arises a need to determine the attitude of mentality segments (social group) toward a new object (commodity) within the scope of subjects entered into the database (completed research project), one simply has to collect the estimates for new subjects based only on the scales given in the relevant project. Expert evaluation of new subjects' ratings is not necessary, while it will be further calculated on the basis of the already built perception model of the given class of subjects in a definite mentality. Thus we construct the desirability forecast for new subjects in the context of the specified conditions (motives).

There are the following steps of software operation for this mode:

  1. a necessary project is selected out of the list of existing projects (research programs);

  2. the "New Subject" mode is functionalized;

  3. names of new research subject are entered;

  4. a testing model only for new subjects is prepared to be saved on a floppy-disc or a CD, depending on the type of file representation (text or multi-media);

  5. the prepared discs are forwarded for computer installation of the testing model with the subsequent expert testing.

Data collection on new subjects can only be done for social groups represented in the basic research, totally or partially.

The accumulated data is forwarded to the basic module where New Subjects mode is to be selected. Further on, data processing is performed on the basis of conditions specified for this project. Thus, new subjects and their states are described in terms of project-relevant motives and categories. As a result, we get new subjects' calculated ratings compared with the ratings of the basic research subjects.
