The problem of cross-cultural communication and interaction within a political space is a priority issue of social policy for many parts of the world with heterogeneous ethic profile.
Key problems of the project:
To what extent are bicultural tendencies expressed in the structure of ethnic awareness in ethnic groups of mono- and bicultural origin?
Are there any differences in the ethnic identity between different gender and age groups?
What are the sense structures underlying motivation and estimation structure of these groups’ national identity?
Which nationalities form psychological proximity with these groups?
There are studies of Russian (Russians) and German (Russian Germans) mentalities in the area of Altai territory, Russian Federation. The elements of Russian national awareness and “Russian” Germans are discussed as part of a psychosemantic model of cross-ethnic perception. The project also contains analysis of the motivation and value components of the ethnic auto- and hetero-perception.
